You don't have to love forever
Just love what you hear, touch and see.
Better to love for now then for never,
with a future that is not guaranteed.

We know nothing from tomorrow,
Nor even from three hours hence.
We know nothing past this one moment
so let this moment be well spent.

Love me for what is before you,
Worry not about our future tense.
Ramifications all remain unwritten,
Wasted love offers poor recompense.

You can waste five years in anticipation,
of every little problem you forsee.
But it's not worth five minutes of the sensation,
flowing between you and me.

The future can never be forbiding,
for it is never sure to be.
In the present we're forever floating,
and the past holds nothing to see.
